Established in 1999, we are proudly supported by the National Cancer Institute to address cancer disparities throughout Maryland.

Within Maryland and the United States, cancer is the second leading cause of death among people. African Americans and other minority and medically-underserved groups have overall higher incidences and mortality rates for many cancer sites than those of Caucasians and the general population. At MSPN, we therefore focus on promoting awareness of cancer and clinical trials, and increasing the pool of researchers working to address and eliminate cancer disparities among minority and underserved or rural groups.
